10 day itinerary
Day 1, ISTANBUL
Arrival and reception at the airport by our staff. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation
Day 2, ISTANBUL:
Breakfast. Departure to explore the fascinating city of Istanbul. During our tour, we will see some of the historical and cultural gems of this unique metropolis, such as the walls of Constantinople, the bustling Yeni Cami square, and as we cross the Galata Bridge over the Golden Horn, we will enjoy a panoramic view that will allow us to admire the imposing minarets of the mosques.
Finally, we'll immerse ourselves in the vibrant Beyoglu district, a modern metropolis with influences of classic European architecture at the gateway to the Middle East. The rest of the day is free, and we recommend considering optional excursions to make the most of your visit. Accommodation
Day 3, ISTANBUL – KUZGUNCUK – ANKARA:
Breakfast. Departure for the Asian side of Istanbul via the intercontinental bridge or ferry to reach Kuzguncuk, known as the neighborhood of Turkish soap operas. Free time in this charming neighborhood, known for its traditional architecture, cultural diversity, excellent cuisine, and its location on the Bosphorus. It offers a relaxed atmosphere and an authentic experience away from the tourist crowds.
Continue to Ankara, passing through the Bolu Mountains. Lunch. Arrival in the capital of the Republic and visit to the Mausoleum of Atatürk, founder of the Turkish Republic. Accommodation and dinner.
Day 4 ANKARA – CAPADOCIA:
Breakfast. Early departure for Cappadocia. En route, we will see Turkey's second largest lake, Lake Tuz (Salt Lake). We will continue to the underground city of Özkonak (also known as Saratli), excavated by early Christian communities. After the visit, we will arrive in the magnificent region of Cappadocia, a blend of nature's wonders and human artistry. Lunch. Before arriving at our hotel, we will stop to watch the sunset from the Three Beauties viewpoint overlooking the fairy chimneys.
Accommodation and dinner. Optional: In the evening you can participate in a folk dance performance in a typical cave.
Day 5 CAPADOCIA:
Breakfast. We'll start the day with a visit to the Göreme Open Air Museum, where we'll admire the rock-hewn churches adorned with frescoes. We'll make stops in the beautiful valleys of Avcilar, Güvercinlik, and Love Valley, and contemplate the region's most unique rock formations. Then, we'll continue our journey to Çavusin, a typical village of the region known for its houses reflecting diverse cultural heritage.
We will make a brief stop in the Uçhisar Valley, where you can enjoy the view of the ancient fortress carved into the rock. Lunch. To finish, we will visit a center for jewelry and typical Cappadocian stones and a carpet workshop to learn about their production. For sunset, enjoy an exciting Jeep adventure through the valleys of Cappadocia: Cavusin Route: Killik Valley, Love Valley, Rose Valley, Sword Valley. Uçhisar Route: Pigeon Valley, Göreme Anten Tepesi, Sword Valley, Love Valley, Rose Valley. Ortahisar Route: Ortahisar Monastery, Ortahisar Castle, Pancarlik Valley, Red Valley. Accommodation and dinner. Optional: At dawn, you will have the opportunity to take a hot air balloon excursion in Cappadocia.
Day 6 CAPPADOCIA – SULTANHANI – PAMUKKALE:
Breakfast and departure for Sultanhani, a historic 13th-century caravanserai (inn) once used by merchants on the Silk Road. We continue our journey through the province of Konya, known as the home of the whirling dervishes. Lunch. Late afternoon arrival at Pamukkale, known as the “Cotton Castle,” a formation of white limestone cascades created by mineral springs. Accommodation and dinner.
Day 7 PAMUKKALE – EPHESUS – IZMIR AREA:
Breakfast and visit to the magnificent white travertine terraces of Pamukkale and the ruins of the nearby Greek city of Hierapolis, founded by the second king of Pergamon in 190 BC. Travel to Ephesus, the Roman capital of Asia Minor. Visit to prominent sites such as the Library of Celsus, the Roman Theatre, and the Temple of Hadrian. Next, we will visit the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be the final residence of the mother of Jesus Christ. Lunch.
To end the day, you'll have the opportunity to witness a fashion show at a regional leather export center. Overnight stay. Optional: At dawn, you'll have the option of taking a hot air balloon ride over Pamukkale.
Day 8 IZMIR – BURSA – ISTANBUL AREA:
Breakfast and departure for Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. We will visit the Green Mosque and the Green Mausoleum, two important historical monuments. We will also explore the lively Silk Bazaar. Lunch. Late afternoon travel to Istanbul, crossing Izmir Bay by ferry or using the new bridge that connects the shores of the Sea of Marmara. Arrival and overnight stay.
**If there is not a sufficient majority, the Izmir – Istanbul leg will be done by plane and in this case there will be no possibility of visiting Bursa.*
Day 9 ISTANBUL:
Breakfast. Free day to continue exploring the captivating city of Istanbul. With endless possibilities at your fingertips, we recommend taking optional excursions to visit iconic monuments. Overnight stay
Day 10 ISTANBUL:
Breakfast and transfer to the airport
