The most common and easiest way to reach Girardot is by land, due to its proximity to Bogotá (approximately 130 km) and the well-developed road network connecting it to other major cities. Girardot has the Santiago Vila Airport, located in the municipality of Flandes, 3.2 km away, although air traffic is limited. The nearest airports with the highest traffic are Perales Airport in Ibagué and El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá. For these reasons, most visitors prefer to arrive by road.
